This was Porter Wagoner's final professional appearance before his death on Oct. 28, 2007. It was a taping of Opry Video Classics on Sept. 6, 2007 for Time Life at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. It was co-hosted by long time friend Marty Stuart.
Porter Wayne Wagoner was a popular American country music singer known for his flashy Nudie and Manuel suits and blond pompadour.
In 1967, he introduced then-obscure singer Dolly Parton on his long-running television show, and they were a well-known vocal duo throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Known as Mr. Grand Ole Opry, Wagoner charted 81 singles from 1954–1983. Dolly Parton inducted Wagoner when he was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002.
Until his illness and death, Wagoner appeared regularly on the Grand Ole Opry and toured actively. He died from lung cancer[6] in Nashville on October 28, 2007. Wagoner's funeral was held November 1, 2007 at the Grand Ole Opry House. He is buried at Woodlawn Memo...

ARTIST’S STATEMENT: My life-long love affair with sports and music and been the subject of most of my personal creative work. My first professional piece was a pen and ink drawing of the Minnesota Twins' Rod Carew for a feature in Jet Magazine in 1978. I was a classically trained illustrator and painter long before software was developed for artists. As the digital age gained strength, my commercial graphic design had me working with Corel Draw in 1987, then Photoshop's version 1.0 back in 1990. I have worked in Photoshop ever since as it continues to be my favorite digital tool.
